David L. Caruso is a playwright and dramaturge from Minneapolis. His plays include THROUGH HIKE, and BILL & STEPHANIE, which was awarded High Honors by the Wesleyan University Department of English. His dramaturgy credits include FIRST LOVE (Cherry Lane Theatre, NY) and SUMMERTIME (Wesleyan University, CT), each written by Charles L. Mee and directed by Kim Weild, and ABOVE THE NOISE (Dixon Place, NY) by Daphne Gampel. He has held literary internships at the Children’s Theatre Company (Minneapolis) and Interact Theatre (Philadelphia), and New Dramatists (New York). He is an alum of the PowerHouse Theater Training Program at Vassar College, and Mark Bly's Dramaturgy Intensive at the Kennedy Center/NNPN MFA Playwrights' Workshop. His essay “Attending to (Our) Ghosts: Lola Arias’ Minefield” was published on the South Wall, the Walker Art Center’s performing arts reader. He was an inaugural resident of the Makers Lab @ TBK in Fairbanks, Alaska in 2018.
